The Washoe County School District offers general music instruction to every student in grades K – 6. This instruction is aligned to the National and State Music Education Standards.
The study of music assists in the acquisition of 21st Century Skills. The cooperative learning setting of music ensembles allows students to develop both individually and as members of a larger group.
The study of music is very engaging, and requires high levels of concentration, creative thinking and team work. We encourage and celebrate the personal expression within every child.
