Block Decoration
Every student, teacher and care provider helps shape each school into a unique institution and contribute to that school's success. In turn, each school is a valuable building block giving Washoe County School District its strength and identity. As we transform what was a ‘reception’ area into a Welcome Center, we invited our schools to paint a block in the newly renovated area. These blocks are part of the physical building and represent the strength each school gives to the District as a whole.
Please come and view these works of art in the Welcome Center at the district Administration Building located at 425 East 9th Street. If you are unable to do that, please return to this area to check out the artwork.
 | Principals contact Sam Newman in the Welcome Center at 775-348-0200 to schedule your school to come in and paint a work of art that will represent your school! |

 | Hug High School My name is Brenda Barajas and I am a senior at Hug High School. I came up with this idea to have Hawk wings because here at Hug our mascot is the Hawk. I drew the wings spread wide to show how proud we are of our school. The Hawk wings also symbolize the journey that my peers and I are traveling on. It talks of how we are changing and learning to be strong and independent learners, it shows how all of our teachers have helped us to grow and forced us to use our minds. When we finish our journey here at Hug we will be able to fly gracefully and majestically through the sky. We are proud to be Hawks! Click image to enlarge |
