Pine PTO Meeting Minutes

 

6:30 * Meeting called to order by President Jennifer Elicegui

1. MINUTES: September minutes were approved.

2. BUDGET: Treasurer Thereza Ortez was not present. She is still waiting for the budget from Donna (School Secretary) per Jennifer Elicegui.

3. YEARBOOK: Signed up with Lifetouch for the yearbook. Lifetouch has an online system. The yearbook will be $25.00 with 120 pages (all color). Need to sell 400 yearbooks to make profit. Will send flyer and have students bring $ to Advisory class.

4. DANCE: Wristband sales started today (Oct. 8). So far there are 15+ chaperones that will attend the dance.

5. 8th GRADE CELEBRATION: 8TH Grade Celebration will be on May 29th.
Wild Island has been booked already.

5. COMMUNITY SERVICE: Last year 35 to 40 baskets were given out to families including Pine families. It has not been decided if there will be baskets for Thanksgiving this year, but for Christmas the Salvation Army tubs are for sure.

6. 21ST CENTURY: Open to all students who would like to stay and get help with their homework. There are about 100 students that stay after school. There is no bussing for those students, so they need to arrange their own transportation. This program is available until 5:00 p.m.
**Kids Café** offers free dinner for anyone who is 18 years old or younger.

7. REPORT CARDS: Report Cards go home on November 7th. They are handed out during the last 15 minutes of the day to make sure students don*t lose them.

8. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: The play *Rock Around the Block* will be on November 6th at 7:00 p.m.

9. PRINCIPAL*S REPORT: Mr. Boudreau brought up the dress code on page
7 of the student*s planner and asked for parent input in considering a standard student school attire. The administration is tired of being the clothing cops. Mr. Boudreau will try to bring people from Sparks Middle School to our next PTO Meeting to give input on uniforms.
