Food for Thoughtful Eating - Think About It!
This year we have 6 new challenges for Prevention Plan members. February’s challenge is Food for Thoughtful Eating – Think About It!
This four-week challenge focuses on the art and science of Mindful Eating, a non-diet approach to healthy eating through the Benson-Henry approach for weight loss and long-term maintenance. This approach teaches you how to reset your appetite while feeling nourished, balanced, and guilt-free. The Benson-Henry Institute provides recommendations that have been extensively researched and shown to prevent chronic diseases.
Want to know more about how you can take control of your health through thoughtful eating? Join Washoe County School District and participate in the Food for Thoughtful Eating Challenge. Make this your year to learn more, get more active, be healthier and to make the commitment: “This will be My Best Year Yet!”
To participate, log in to your Prevention Plan at www.ThePreventionPlan.com

My New Year, My New Challenge, My New Opportunity to Make This . . . My Best Year Yet
Safe Routes is reaching out to you in order to find volunteers and organizers for local elementary schools participating in Nevada Moves Day on March 19th. If your elementary school has an athletic event in March you may be rewarded for your efforts with incentives from Safe Routes to School, like water bottles, bracelets and pencils.
This annual event is focused on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Safe Routes To School encourages physical activity and awareness of how easy it is for students to engage in exercise throughout the day.
Visit the Safe Routes Website
to watch children’s creative activities from the past; last year 24 schools participated.
School Police Officer MJ Cloud will work with you, a staff member, or a parent to make this fun filled day a success. Contact MJ Cloud
