Principal News...Our last quarter of the year has approached. What a great year so far! I want to thank everyone who attended our Evening of the Arts last Tuesday Night. It was a big success. Again, thank you to Joniece Frasca for all her planning and putting together this big event and a shout out to Andi Banovich for her hard work in putting together our 6th grade Shout Out Video. Also, thank you to Lakeside Specialized Transportation for their wonderful donation of Reno Bighorn Tickets to our Verdi families.

Verdi has experienced a high volume of requests for variances. We want to make sure we have a spot for all of our zoned students before we accept a variance. So, please go online and register your child if they are planning on attending next year.

Science Fair...We are proud to announce that Verdi Elementary has had 5 winners announced at the annual Science Fair at UNR. Congratulations to Taylor Nicioli, 6th grade, for her invention of the Humane Medical Pet Restraint, Sofia Banovich, 5th grade, for her invention of The Amazing CBC, and to Oliva Banbury, Lucy Pyle and Emily Weller, 4th grade, for their project of Soak it Up! Way to go VERDI!

Upcoming Fieldtrips...

PFA...Our school is looking for a few new people to join our PFA Board. If you are interested in helping your child's school to continue to be a fun, parent involved place then please let us know in the office or feel free to call our PFA President, Sarah Rosenfeld @ 530-479-0232! Our next PFA meeting will be Tuesday, April 2nd at 3:30. Please feel free to join us.

Music Program ...Our 4th and 5th graders will be performing a short music program on Tuesday, April 2nd at 11:00 a.m.

Spring Break ...April 8th thru the 12th. No School. Have a wonderful Break!

Volunteer Breakfast ...Mark your calendar and plan to join us for a breakfast on Tuesday, April 23rd at 8:00 a.m. for all those parent/family volunteers who help with our school throughout the year. Please watch for a flyer with an RSVP to be coming home soon.

Take Your Child To Work...day is on Thursday, April 25th. If you plan to have your child/ren go with you to your work on the 25th, please be sure to call the office to let us know. Thank you!

CRT Testing...will begin for our 3rd thru 6th graders on Monday, April 29th thru Friday, May 3rd. It is very important that your child gets a good night's sleep and a good breakfast for testing. Also it is greatly appreciated if you do not schedule any dr's appts. during this week for your child.

Community Service...Our 6th graders performed 80.75 hours of community service for the month of February! 6th graders ROCK!

6th grade is also continuing to collect food for the Food Bank. For the month of April, 6th grade is asking for you to donate any granola bars, protein bars or packaged cookies. Your child may bring them to school and deposit them in a bucket in their classroom. Thank you for your continued support!

Education City...Your child has 24 hour access (no charge) to a great resource for improving students' skills. Your child has received a password and login so they may use this resource at at school and at home. Help reinforce their learning thru this website throughout the year.
