NEVADA DIVISION OF WILDLIFE (NDOW)

NDOW logo NDOW is responsible for the nature theme in the Verdi Community Library and Nature Center. The NDOW staff maintains an aquarium of fish native to the Truckee River. The walls are decorated with murals depicting the Truckee Corridor and animal mounts, including a mountain lion, brown bear, otter and various birds, all indigenous to the area.

NDOW and its' volunteers host hunting, fishing and nature seminars at the facility. NDOW's Regional Wildlife Education Division conducts Interpretive Outdoor Education Classes for schools and community groups. To schedule a field trip for your class or organization, please call the Regional Wildlife Education Coordinator at (775) 334-3808 or visit our website at www.ndow.org.

Educators and parents will enjoy the educational websites posted to NDOW'S website. Animals of Nevada has pictures and descriptions of a wide variety of Nevada mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. Animal tracks will help your students identify common wildlife prints they may come across in their outdoor experiences.

If you have an affection for the great outdoors and would like to share it with students and educators, NDOW is recruiting volunteers on an ongoing basis for a variety of opportunities. If interested, please call (775) 334-3808 or visit our website at www.ndow.org.
