Attended high school in Lake Tahoe; attended university at California State University at Sacramento majoring in journalism and government.  Started with the Washoe County School District teaching alternative education and social studies at McQueen High School.  Also taught at Opportunity School and served as an administrator at North Valleys High School prior to coming to Wooster High School as the principal in the fall of 2007.

My responsibility as the principal of Wooster High School is to ensure every student attends a school that challenges students to do their best in all areas… academics, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, and service to their school and community.  I oversee all aspects of the Wooster community including instruction, facilities, hiring, student activities, and budget.

I am the Assistant Principal in charge of Attendance and Activities at Wooster High School; therefore, my motto is “come to school and get involved”.

I graduated from the University of Nevada-Reno with a Bachelor of Science degree and received my Masters of Education Administration from Grand Canyon University.  I have been in education for 18 years, 16 of those years as a Science teacher, 5 years as Science Department Leader, and one year as a Dean of Students.  

My interests include spending time with my family (wife April, daughter Haley 11, and son Trevor, 9), cycling, mountain biking, skiing, running, working out, reading, watching the San Francisco Giants, and traveling.  

My duties at Wooster include monitoring student attendance and tardies, working with Leadership on all school activities, and most importantly, being an instructional leader so our students at Wooster are getting the best education in the Washoe County School District.  Feel free to contact me anytime and Go Colts!!

I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Spanish in 1996.  I received my Master of Arts in Educational Administration & Supervision in 2005. Currently I am an Educational Leadership doctoral candidate at the University of Nevada, Reno. I hope to complete my dissertation program in 2011 and earn a PhD. I was a classroom teacher for nine years teaching English, Spanish, and Yearbook.

My duties at Wooster High School include master scheduling, alignment of curriculum to standards, and professional development. As testing administrator I coordinate the NHSPE, PSAT, ELPA, AP, IB, and semester final exams. Last but not least, I am the administrator in charge of technology.

I'm so excited and very proud to be part of the Wooster family - we have amazing students and staff here. I hope that you find my office to be open and welcoming - please stop by and say hello anytime. Go Colts!

I grew up in Sparks and graduated from Reed High School. Then I attended UNR and majored in history and minored in math while working as a school bus driver. I taught at Carson Middle School three years and then four years at Dilworth Middle School before coming to Wooster to teach math and history for twelve years. I was Dean of Students for five years and am excited to now be the Assistant Principal overseeing Discipline, Athletics and Buildings and Grounds.

I am married with three boys and enjoy refereeing basketball and volunteering as the Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America, Troop #14. It has been exciting to see the continual improvements here and I am looking forward to making great things happen at Wooster in the future!

  • Daryl Dibitonto - IB Coordinator

International Baccalaureate Coordinator

Dr. DiBitonto earned his Bachelor of Science from Stanford University, and both his Master of Arts and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University. He also holds both teaching and administrative endorsements with the state of Nevada. Prior to joining the WCSD, Dr. DiBitonto was a staff research scientist with the European Laboratory for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the ETH, Zurich. He later joined the physics faculty of Texas A&M University and the University of Alabama, with over 12 years of teaching and research experience. He has also co-authored more than 200 scientific publications in refereed journals. In 2001 he joined the WCSD, teaching physics and general science at Wooster High School.

Since 2003 Dr. DiBitonto has been the Diploma Coordinator of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program at Wooster High School. In addition to his current duties as IB Coordinator, he is also Coordinator for the Advanced Placement (AP) Program and Test Coordinator for the High School Proficiency Exam (HSPE). As a member of the school’s administrative team, he is also responsible for data that drives the school improvement plan.

Hello to the students and parents of Wooster High. I am thrilled to be a member of the Colt family and look forward to an exciting and rewarding school year. I have worked in the WCSD for 4 years. Before moving to the Reno area, I lived in San Diego for 24 years. I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education with a major in mathematics. I also have Masters Degree from the University of Phoenix in Administration and Supervision.
